Now make the text metallic with a gradient. In our case, we will use Cylinder Gray 02, which is similar to chrome, but you can experiment with other metals.

We bevel the edges of our metal plate. Select text, go to extrusion tool and go to Bevel -> Use Bevel -> Show Bevel Only. Play around with the settings.

Now paste the copy on top of the original: you need to make the top of the ball darker (see Fig. 3)

The top of the ball is the most illuminated place. Therefore, we draw an ellipse, which will be the most illuminated part, fill it with white and add transparency (Fig. 4) using the "interactive transparency" tool with the direction from top to bottom.

The bottom of the ball, although it is in the shade, is nevertheless poorly illuminated by reflected light, so we copy our “upper ellipse” and, having reduced its size, place it below (Fig. 5) near our ball (the brightness of the fill must be reduced using the same “glass "")

Everything, our ball is ready for use; additionally, you can decorate it with snowflakes (Fig. 6).

If you need to quickly draw a simple Christmas tree - we make several of these balls of different colors, draw a green triangle (copy it three times), add an asterisk on top - and now (see the figure) the Christmas tree is ready.

Step 4:

If a more elaborate drawing is required (for example, a New Year's card with a spruce branch), we decorate our ball with snowflakes (Fig. 6). Fill the background of the postcard with a blue gradient (you can use the same “glass”).

Step 5:

We draw a spruce branch (the degree of "similarity" depends on individual drawing abilities) in the following order: 1 - contour, 2 - gradient fill, 3 - drawing the fluffiness of the branch: we clone ellipses of different sizes in the same way as we drew the places of illumination in the ball (see. rice). Now, with the help of one drawn branch and the copy => paste function, you can create a whole spruce forest, but I limited myself to three branches.

In this tutorial on Corel Photo Paint, we will talk about the principle of creating a glass button. Based on the lesson, you can make other glossy or glass objects with a glare, for example, in the Vista style.

Theory of glass objects

Glass buttons and other objects appear to consist of only a few elements.

    Main element. Located on the bottom layer and created first, it sets the shape and color of the glass button. Next come the elements of effects - glare, shadow, light, reflections.

    Glare. The highlight color of the button is always cooler than the color of the main element. The glare has a rigid outline. However, despite its rigidity, its outline is fluid and can slightly follow the borders of the main element, or vice versa create the effects of uneven buttons without repeating the borders. The more intense the glare, the less transparent it is - you will not see what is in the car if its glass is brightly glare or reflects light objects.


    Clearance. This effect is created by the reflection of light from the inner wall as it passes through the glassy substance of the object. After passing through the substance, the light usually becomes warmer and more saturated, which is taken into account when creating the gap of colored objects. To make it easier to understand, imagine an empty plastic Kinder Surprise egg, which, under the light of a lamp, becomes almost red at the bottom (clearance) and light yellow at the top (highlight), although the material is orange. In addition, the contour of the gap is softer than that of the glare, often blurred and is a spot.

    Shadow. On glass buttons, the shadow does not play an important role and, sometimes, even spoils the view, because. the volume in our case is set by the highlight and the gap. But the outer shadow helps to highlight the button from the environment, without it the glass effect is often not visible and the contours are not clear.

    Reflections. Environment theoretically very diverse, so there are no definite rules regarding the contours and colors of reflections. But it should be noted that reflections should not be sharply evident, otherwise they can spoil the glare and clearance. Moreover, the reflections cannot overlap the highlight, and are always below it, or lower in the layer. But at the same time, reflections always overlap the gap and are above it in the layer. Note that the effect of reflections is enhanced by the use of smooth outlines that follow the shape of the object, pouring over it.

Step 1. Let's start creating:

open Corel PHOTO-PAINT and create a new document, preferably with a white background.

From the tool menu, select the rectangle tool (or just click F6).

In the properties of the rectangle (in the properties panel at the top), enter a radius of 30 (field Radius) to make the button slightly rounded.

Select a gray fill color and draw a rectangle.

Now we have to do glare on the glass button. This can be done through a mask. Mask is a tool that gives PHOTO-PAINT a lot of possibilities.

Create a mask in the form of a flattened oval over the button. To do this, press the key J or choose an instrument Ellipse Mask Tool on the toolbar on the left.

Draw an oval mask over the button so that the bottom of the ellipse is centered on the button:

Select the button rectangle and click Ctrl + Up.

Now click on the selected highlight at the top and, without releasing the mouse, move the cursor to the bottom of our button, as if stretching the transparency:

Release the mouse button. Our glare has improved.

In order for the button to become translucent like glass, you need to make it lighter from below. To do this, select the button (without glare) and press ctrl+d. With this operation, we duplicated the main element of the button, which covered our button and its highlight, as if the bay was gray again.

But we are creating a glow, so fill the new element with white. Now let's repeat the translucency stretch. Only this time from the bottom up, i.e. so that our element remains white at the bottom and transparent at the top:

Don't drag the translucency stretch all the way to the top, because the glare of the button and the glass effect will be lost, the button will become more matte.

Step 5:

Almost finished. But the object doesn't look like glass yet. The thing is that to create this effect, you need a darker background, which will reveal the glow and glare. But we have a white leaf background, and in order to show the effect, we need a dark ring around the button. It will select the object from the environment.

This ring is created in the following way. Select the initial gray element or the entire button at once. Then click Ctrl+M. A red mask will appear around again, with which you can make a dark ring:

Step 6:

Go to the main top menu of Corel PHOTO-PAINT to the item Mask / Mask Outline / Feather.

After that, with no object selected, press Ctrl + Up to create an object from under the mask. You should end up with a white selected element below the button. Color it black. Everything, you should get a button like mine.

4. Calling Docker windows

docker windows mobile windows are called mobile windows designed to dynamically change parameters while editing a document. Docker windows are displayed on the right side of the screen between the scrollbar and the color palette, if the window is not needed it can be easily minimized.

    Ctrl+F9 Docker window for creating effects

Alignment and distribution of objects is done using the window: Arrange-AlignDistribute

    B(Align Bottom) Align objects along the bottom border

    P(Center to page) Align objects to the center of the page

    E(Align center horisontally) Horizontal alignment of the centers of selected objects

    L(Align left) Align objects on the left border

    R(Align right) Align objects along the right border

    T(Align top) Align objects along the top border

    C(Align center vertically) Vertical alignment of the centers of the selected objects

Distribution

    Shift+T(Distribute Top) Vertical distribution of objects along the top border of objects

    Shift+C(Distribute centers vertically) Vertical distribution of objects along the center of objects

    Shift+A(Distribute spacing vertically) Vertically distribute objects by equal distance between objects

    Shift+B(Distribute bottom) Vertical distribution of objects along the bottom border of objects

    Shift+L(Distribute left) Vertical distribution of objects along the left border of objects

    Shift+E(Distribute centers horisontally) Horizontal distribution of objects along the center of objects

    Shift+P(Distribute spacing horisontally) Horizontal distribution of objects at an equal distance between objects
